Mission Refill is on a mission to reduce waste! We provide our community a convenient entry point to sustainable living and waste reduction.
We do this by offering common household goods in bulk by the ounce, by selling products in sustainable, plastic free, recyclable or compostable packaging and by making it easy for people to return or recycle products when they are done.
We’re Goleta’s first and only refillery and aim to accelerate people's transition to sustainable living.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve customers by helping them select products, demonstrating your product expertise and providing general information about ingredients, sourcing, packaging, supplients etc.
Assist customers with the refillable products section by helping them weigh their containers and fill them with little over-spill or waste.
Drive sales through the engagement of customers and suggestive selling.
Support the achievement of daily and monthly sales goals and VIP memberships.
Ring-up customer orders at the point-of-sales system processing purchases, fulfilling gift cards and adding promotional discounts where applicable.
Process returns or exchanges in accordance with the Return Policy.
Maintain the store’s overall appearance by restocking merchandise, refilling bulk items and completing a daily cleaning checklist.
Prepare and fulfill ecommerce orders in a timely manner.
Associates will be asked to do some dishwashing as it relates to the bottle swap program
Respond to customer inquiries via social media during scheduled shifts
Prepare and provide assistance with special after hours events as needed
Assist the Shop Lead with tasks such as inventory control, receiving and stocking merchandise, applying pricing stickers etc.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A passion for sustainability and package free products is a must!
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work a consistent weekly schedule of 12 - 20 hours per week, WEEK DAYS ARE A MUST
Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
Self-starter who proactively seeks solutions and works independently
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task on various projects simultaneously
Experience working in retail or similar work
Comfortable working with a POS System, Shopify experience a plus
Familiarity with inventory procedures
High school degree; BS degree in Marketing or related field would be a plus
Additional compensation is available to those with social media skills and experience and willing to support Mission Refills social channels
