The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team: JOB DESCRIPTION The HVAC Lead Technician, Facilities is responsible for reliable and consistent operation of building systems for offices, labs, clean rooms, and support areas.
Work includes operations within a semi-conductor wafer fab facility, as well as performing other routine maintenance and repair projects as needed for HVAC Mechanical Units, Including Air Handlers and Chillers, ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on HVAC units, motors, pneumatics and other facilities equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Duties and Responsibilities The Lead Technician, Facilities position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to include but not limited to Installing, troubleshooting, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Required Skills: Possession of an EPA universal refrigerant license Possession of a valid California state driver’s license.
HVAC Mechanic with strong trouble shooting skills General knowledge of Pneumatic controls, thermostats and VAV Boxes Experience working on large (500 ton) air water cooled chillers.
Service and repair of environmental-control systems associated with mechanical systems.
Perform other maintenance-related tasks, such as trouble-shooting and maintaining pump systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, etc.
Proficiency in the maintenance of large custom and cleanroom air handlers.
Thorough understanding of heating and ventilation systems for cleanrooms, electronics labs, and environmental lab areas.
Maintenance of cooling towers and the associated systems involved with their operation.
Required to work in compliance with OSHA and RTX safety policies and procedures, as applicable, to ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Knowledge of refrigerant management requirements Desired Skills: Familiarity with MS Office Business Suite applications.
Experience with building automation and control programs.
Ability to work from manuals, blueprints, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, or other specifications.
Provide assistance to technicians/colleagues for various tasks as needed.
Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with co-workers and customers as needed to relay information they need in order to be successful.
Required Education and Experience: This position typically requires an AS/AA degree or other 2 year post High school education, training or certification and 6 years of applicable experience in Facilities Maintenance or other industrial setting.
Possession of an EPA universal refrigerant license Possession of a valid California state driver’s license.
Desired Education: Trade School for HVAC Certificates for HVAC Work Authorization Status: Must be a U.

Citizen.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.
Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
The salary range for this role is 46,000 USD - 110,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
